Welcome to Mavis Bank, Teangue, Sleat, Isle of Skye

Enter IV44 8RE into your Sat Nav, and when the voice says you have arrived, look for the oval 'Mavis Bank' house sign. It's on the hill-side of the road, opposite the sea.

If however, you are navigating otherwise and approaching from the North, Google Maps will direct you via the Skye Bridge. If approaching from the South, Google Maps will direct you via the Mallaig/Armadale Ferry. If crossing by the Mallaig/Armadale Ferry, firstly make sure the ferry is running at the time you expect to arrive. Bookings (01687) 46201 to confirm are advisable.

Below is an e-map map showing how to get to the flat from wherever you are. Use the plus and minus controls at the top left of the map to zoom in and out and the arrows to move the map north, south, east and west. You can also re-position the map by holding your left mouse button down over the map and dragging it around. A single click on the red marker pin takes you to a page where you can find your starting point. A single right click on your starting point leads you to place a green pin on your starting point and you can produce and print directions from there. You can also look at a satellite photograph but we have to tell you that Google took it about a year before the flat was built!

Once you get on to the Island, the local directions below carry better detail which will help you to spot us first time. You may wish to print a copy to take with you.

On coming off the ferry at Armadale, travel north for about three miles until you come to the township of Teangue. Look for the oval 'Mavis Bank' house sign on your left.

If you are crossing by the toll-free Skye Bridge: At the Kyleakin roundabout, take the third exit and stay on the A 87. 5.5 miles after the bridge roundabout, you'll come to a junction signposting Armadale and Teangue to your left (A851). Take that road south for approximately 11 miles, passing by Drumfearn and Kinloch. Go through Duisdale Beag and you will then come to the conspicuous Toravaig Hotel on your left, followed by a large Church on your left. Approximately 300m after the church and at the top of the rise look for the 'Mavis Bank' house sign on your right.
